Fit Fridays… Is Yoga Ok During Pregnancy?

Yoga is a great way to stay active and fit during your pregnancy. Yoga’s focus on breathing will help you throughout your pregnancy and definitely through labor! If you’re new to yoga, consult with your doctor before starting any fitness program during pregnancy. If you’re a seasoned yogini, consult with you doctor before continuing your program as well and let your yoga instructors know you are pregnant and which trimester you are in so they can suggest the right poses and posture modifications.

Finding Focus In A Busy World…

As some of you know, I started taking yoga classes again last April and promptly fell in love with it all over again. What I love about yoga, is that it forces you to slow down, focus and breathe, and really get in touch with your body and how you feel.

Sometimes I’m feeling “Hey I aced that last pose, go me!” and sometimes I’m feeling “Honestly, how much longer is this class?”, but I always come away feeling more centered and ready to crush the rest of the day.

I thought I’d share this fun Yoga Quickie from Practical Yoga with you guys of Whirling Tree Pose, a fun, restorative, and centering posture that can help build strength in your legs and enhance your ability to stay centered and focused in a busy, distracting world. Click on the pic to try it!
